“Cheesecake has brought us together but our number one standing goal that we say around here is take care of people,” says Scotty Bruce, the owner of the Underground Cheesecake Company in Traverse City. 

This company has been around for several decades, allowing them to perfect their not-so-secret recipe: 18 lbs of cream cheese, 7.5 lbs of sour cream, 30 eggs and lots of sugar. A recipe that may rival your mothers… But that’s not why they do what they do.

Scotty Bruce says, “Life is heavy, but to have that small piece of solace I think and I hope that it’s making a difference and that’s why we do what we do.”

Working around cheesecake all day doesn’t get old for these employees. Especially while busting out in song to some classic Disney music! This energetic group is always coming up with new, innovative flavors but Kitchen Captain, Jennifer Kozma says people can always expect, “a dessert that is rich and creamy and just melts in your mouth – the whole feel of it is just an experience.”
