HIGHFILL, Ark. (KNWA) – During the season of giving many local organizations are doing their part in making sure everyone has food on the table.
One is doing so by “hatching happiness”.
Many kids at the children’s shelter have suffered from food insecurity for most of their lives.
Protein rich foods is the hardest to come by but thanks to The Happy Egg Company the shelter will now receive over 75 dozen eggs a month.
We caught up with the chef from the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter who said this gift from Happy Eggs is a representation of what the donation means to the shelter.
“For me as a person the Children’s shelter is the happiest place on earth so it’s no coincidence that Happy Eggs had to meet the happiest place one earth,” said Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter Chef, Andrew Dias Jayasinghe.
The company’s donation will supply the shelter with enough eggs to provide nutritious meals to more than 400 children annually.
Donations will continue for the next year.
