Christmas will be a little bit brighter now for those in need in Cambridge. Gore Mutual has donated $5000 to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank.

“There is an urgent need at food banks across Canada and at this time of year, no one should go hungry,” Heidi Sevcik, President and CEO of Gore Mutual said in a release. “Our company is built on the idea of people helping people and we believe in supporting organizations that strengthen Canadian communities.”

Gore Mutual has donated $40,000 altogether to nine different food banks across the country. According to Food Banks Canada, more than 850,000 people rely on food banks every month.

In addition to the donation, employees from Gore Mutual spent several hours volunteering at the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank.

“We are so honoured that Gore Mutual spent time with us in this busy holiday season helping us with the hard work of sorting and organizing our food donations,” said Cameron Dearlove, Executive Director at the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank. “In addition to their time, we are so thankful for the generous financial donation.”
