SOUTH BEND, IN- February 1 – Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, a division of REAL Services, is offering a free six-part educational series, “Keys to a Successful Day of Caregiving” in Newton/Jasper County, for caregivers of loved ones diagnosed with Alzheimer-related diseases. The classes will be held at the Newton County Library, 205 S. West Street, Morocco, Indiana from 10 -11:30 a.m. The dates and classes for the series are:

• February 26, 2019: Alzheimer’s 101- Understanding Alzheimer’s and dementia

• March 5, 2019: Busy Minds and Hands- Discovering how to make outings and appointments enjoyable

• March 12, 2019: Creating a Safe Haven-How to keep homes save for loved ones

• March 19, 2019: Take a Deep Breath and Take Care of Yourself:-Self-care for Caregivers

• March 26, 2019: Aging in Place vs. Alternative Placement- Options when living at home is no longer feasible

• April 2, 2019: Keeping it Legal-Legal processes for the protection of loved ones

Community Action assists low-income families in achieving self-sufficiency. REAL Services exists as a unique organization with a network of unduplicated services. These cost-effective programs are designed to enhance or enable self-sufficiency while making a lasting difference in people’s lives and the health of the community.
